You’ll find the time for it, they said… Maaan, I’ve been working so much in the past year or so, I could barely find the time to see my family, especially my mom who needs my help. I only get to see her maybe 2-3hrs a week.

Anyway, so many things had happened since I last posted something, I don’t even know where to start.

Financially speaking, we have achieved every single goal we had for 2024, published on the blog last year as well:

• We have achieved our goal of staying on track with our house savings. We actually have bought ourselves an apartment in March, we’re about to start renovating it;
• We have managed to increase our monthly investments budget by an insane 400% or so;
• We got ourselves the medical insurances, but with a slight delay, because we did it in February 2025;
• We managed to budget almost every single expense in advance which made our lives so much easier;
• We went in October on short cruise from Genoa to Marseille and Barcelona;
• We have found that new income stream which actually allowed us to increase our investments so much;

Overall, 2024 was good year financially and personally. I wish I was as satisfied on a professional level, but you know, things happen. Sadly I haven’t had the time to get anywhere with my CCNP study. I’m quite confident on the technical side of it, but everyone who ever attended a Cisco exam knows these exams are not only about technical stuff and in fact, most of it isn’t about the technical stuff.

I don’t enjoy the environment I work in as much as I did for 5 straight years, but maybe time has come to look for another challenge. I don’t know yet. Anyway, the good thing is that I love what I do so the toxic environment isn’t as much of a burden when I get caught into my troubleshooting sessions or implementations cause I get to simply ignore their crap.
